Parque das Nações

We start in Lisbon’s modern north, at Parque das Nações, built for Expo 98. Located along the Tejo River, this area offers riverside paths and views of the Vasco da Gama Bridge, the longest in Europe at 17 km.

Alfama

Explore Alfama, one of Lisbon’s oldest and most traditional neighborhoods. Walk through its narrow alleys and experience the local rhythm, with the sound of Fado echoing through the streets.

Graça & Nossa Senhora do Monte

Head to Graça, perched on Lisbon’s highest hill. At the Nossa Senhora do Monte viewpoint, enjoy one of the best panoramic views of the city. Nearby, you’ll find the National Pantheon—and if you’re lucky, Europe’s oldest flea market.

St. George Castle & Surroundings

Climb to St. George Castle, a Moorish fortification from the 8th century that offers sweeping city views. Visit the nearby Lisbon Cathedral and St. Anthony’s Church, honoring the beloved matchmaker saint.

Downtown Lisbon

In Baixa, walk down Rua Augusta and arrive at Praça do Comércio, the grand square by the river, once the gateway to the city. Continue along Avenida da Liberdade, Lisbon’s main boulevard, known for luxury shops and historic buildings.

Visit the bustling neighborhoods of Chiado and Bairro Alto, full of charm, cafés, and nightlife. Pass by the grand Basilica da Estrela and its serene gardens.

Cristo Rei View

Cross the 25 de Abril Bridge and pause at the foot of Cristo Rei for one of the best views of Lisbon from the south bank.

Belém

End the day in Belém, where the Age of Discoveries comes to life. Taste the original pastel de Belém and admire monuments like the Jerónimos MonasteryBelém Tower, and the Monument to the Discoveries, all by the river.

From the moment we met Pedro, it was clear how deeply he loves his country. His passion for Portugal shone through every story he told and every corner of Lisbon he revealed to us. He wasn’t just knowledgeable, he was a true ambassador, weaving history, culture, and personal insight together in a way that made the city come alive. What impressed us most was the effort he put into customizing the day for us, from adjusting the pace to tailoring stops around our interests. We left not only with unforgettable memories of Lisbon, but with a real sense of connection to its people and spirit. We’ll absolutely be back to do more tours with Pedro, and we recommend him wholeheartedly to anyone visiting Lisbon.

Our guide was Pedro Alves, who picked us up from our hotel in Cascais spot on time. We felt comfortable in his company straight away. It was clear that Pedro is proud of his country and its history, and his enthusiasm was infectious. His knowledge is outstanding and was delivered in excellent English. We thoroughly enjoyed day and hope to return for another guided tour with Pedro next year. S&A

We were a group of four US tourists. Paula was punctual, arriving at our hotel on time snd with great enthusiasm. She was knowledgeable about the sites in Lisbon and clearly conveyed information to the group. She was flexible with our schedule allowing us time to take photographs. We never felt rushed. She was courteous and professional. She also had many stories, which enhanced our tour experience. If you’re looking for a competent guide to show you around Lisbon, we recommend Paula.
