This Tour introduces you to a region south of Tejo River, shaped by Arrábida Hills with its Natural Park, Sado Estuary Natural Reserve, beautiful beaches such as Portinho da Arrábida and the enormous sands of the Tróia Peninsula.
Palmela and Vila Nogueira de Azeitão are known as the capitals of the Wine Route, with their cellars and farms to visit, a very rich region, from heritage to gastronomy. Come with us to discover and use your five senses: taste the best that the local cuisine has to offer, listen to the pieces of history that the monuments tell, touch the clay that gives rise to our beautiful tiles, see the river, the sea and the mountains and smell the vines that originate this nectar of choice.
After pick-up in Lisbon, we cross Tejo River over the Vasco da Gama bridge, considered the longest in Europe Union, at 17 km in length, passing through Montijo and heading towards Palmela, where we will make a stop to visit the Fort of Palmela, which will provide us with a wonderful view over the region.
We continue our journey along dirt roads and unique panoramic trails, with vineyards as far as the eye can see until we reach the first winery, in a familiar and welcoming place where we will have a wonderful wine tasting and enjoy some wonderful regional tapas.
Passing through Arrábida Hills, with its dreamlike landscapes, we head towards Azeitão, known for its artisanal cheese and regional pastry sweets, we will visit a tile factory where they are manufactured using traditional Portuguese techniques.
It is also in Azeitão that we will visit a vineyard with a wine tasting included. Vine cultivation has been practiced in this region since ancient times and viticulture continues to be one of its main activities. The climate and soil conditions favor the production of grapes and wines of various types. Especially famous is the Moscatel de Setúbal, a liqueur wine, with an exotic floral aroma and touches of honey, dates and orange that make it peculiar and unmistakable red and white table wines are also produced.
After a fantastic day in our company, we will return, crossing the 25 de Abril bridge, with Cristo Rei as our company and the wonderful view of the city of Lisbon on the horizon.
