World Travel Awards 2024: Portugal wins 31 awards at European gala

Portugal was distinguished in 31 categories at the 31st edition of the World Travel Awards, whose European gala took place in Berlin

Madeira , Porto Santo , Lisbon and Porto were elected the best in Europe in the categories Best Island Destination, Best Beach Destination, Best Urban Destination and Best Metropolitan Seaside Destination, respectively.  

Braga won the Emerging Destination award, and the Azores were considered the Best Adventure Destination. The Paiva Walkways were once again distinguished with the award for Best Tourist Attraction in the World in the Adventure segment. TAP was considered the best airline in Europe for traveling to South America and Africa.  

But a series of other distinctions were won by national hotels, companies and projects:

— Best Tourism Project: Mondego Walkways
— Best Boutique Hotel Manager: Amazing Evolution

— Best Airline from Europe to North America: Azores Airlines
— Best Regional Airline: SATA Air Açores
— Best Tourism Entity: Madeira Promotion Bureau
— Best Resort Villas: Golden Dunes
— Most Romantic Resort: Pousada Mosteiro Amares
— Best Luxury Hotel: Savoy Palace
— Best Beach Hotel: Pestana Alvor Praia
— Best Hotel Design: 1908 Lisboa Hotel
— Best Lifestyle Hotel: W Algarve
— Best Urban Family and Wellness Hotel: Pestana Palace Lisboa
— Best Lifestyle Resort: Conrad Algarve
— Best All-Suite Resort: Wyndham Grand Algarve
— Best Luxury Hotel for Business Travel: Pestana Palace Lisbon
— Best Luxury Boutique Hotel: Valverde Hotel, Lisbon
— Best Island Resort: Vila Baleira Resort
— Best Sports Resort: Cascade Wellness Resort
— Wine Country Hotel: L’AND Vineyards
