Parque das Nações

The Lisbon All City Tour began in the north of Lisbon, in the modern Expo/Oriente area, where you can walk through Parque das Nações, which was built as the stage for Expo 98. St. George Castle

Lisbon is the city of seven hills, so let’s visit another one! On the Castle hill you can visit St. George Castle, a 8th century fortification that is the crown of the city, sided by the Cathedral, that has several architectural styles, such as the romantic style of the building, as well as the beautiful Santo António Church, known to be the matchmaker saint.

Downtown

You can feel the atmosphere of some of the most popular streets, such as Augusta Street and Praça do Comércio, also known as the gates of Lisbon or Terreiro do Paço.

Liberdade Avenue is one of the main avenues in the city and is well known for its prestigious shops, hotels, theaters, and historic buildings. Bairro Alto is an old and picturesque neighborhood with narrow cobbled streets, secular houses, small traditional shops, and countless bars and restaurants. Chiado, one of the most emblematic and traditional neighborhoods of Lisbon, is one of the most cosmopolitan and bustling areas of the Portuguese capital, as is the Basilica da Estrela, with its dream gardens.

As we pass the 25 de April Bridge, we find the imposing statue of Cristo Rei, where you can have, from the south bank, one of the best views over Lisbon.

Belém

Belém is ideal for an unique late afternoon, enjoying a pastel de Belém and admiring the monuments along the river, that recall the Age of Discoveries, with Jerónimos Monastery and Belém Tower, both outstanding examples of the Manueline architecture of the 16th century, and Padrão dos Descobrimentos, a landmark of the 60’s built in a silent but thoughtful gratitude to all the brave men that crossed the seas.
