This tour takes you through two of the region’s most meaningful cities—Tomar and Fátima—while offering views of scenic plains, river valleys, and forested hills.
Tomar
We begin in Tomar, a historic city deeply connected to the legacy of the Templar Knights. Here, you’ll visit the Castle and Convent of Christ, a monumental complex recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Founded in the 12th century, the convent was gifted to the Templars by Portugal’s first king in gratitude for their role in the Christian reconquest. Its architecture showcases a blend of Gothic, Manueline, Renaissance, and Romanesque styles. One of the highlights is the Charola, the original Templar rotunda that still evokes mystery and reverence today.
This is a must-see site for anyone interested in medieval history, sacred symbolism, or hidden architectural gems.
Fátima
Next, we journey to Fátima, one of the world’s most important Catholic pilgrimage destinations. This is the place where Our Lady appeared in 1917 to Sister Lúcia and her cousins, Saints Jacinta and Francisco.
While in the Sanctuary you might visit the Our Lady of the Rosary Basilica, the Chapel of the Apparitions and also the modern Holy Trinity Basilica.
Take time to walk the grounds, attend Mass, light a candle, or simply absorb the quiet, spiritual atmosphere that led Pope John Paul II to call this place “The Altar of the World.”
Return to Lisbon
After a day filled with legends, devotion, and meaningful discoveries, we make our way back to Lisbon. Along the route, enjoy a final look at the rural beauty that defines the center of Portugal.
This itinerary is carefully designed for an unforgettable experience—but the choice is always yours.
Let yourself be guided through the grandeur of Tomar and Fátima, where history and faith come to life.

What happens if it rains or there is bad weather?
All activities will take place throughout the year even if it rains.
Sintra, for example, has a microclimate, which in a way makes this place so magical and unique, but sometimes it can really make the visit sad by limiting visibility and the experience a bit, but that’s something that’s not in our control.
Do you come to pick me from my hotel?
Yes, we do pick up and drop off our clients at their hotels in Lisbon’s center.
Make sure that you write the correct address of your hotel or accommodation from where we should pick you up.
I am a solo traveler, can I still join the tour?
Yes, we accept solo travelers.
At what time the tour starts?
For our group tours, pick-up takes place between 08:30 and 09:00.
For private tours, we recommend the same time slot, although pick-up can be arranged at a different time upon request.
