Fátima, Batalha, Nazaré & Óbidos Tour from Lisbon
This full-day tour invites you to discover four of the most iconic locations in central Portugal. From spiritual sanctuaries to medieval villages and coastal wonders, enjoy a carefully curated experience through faith, history, and natural beauty.
Fátima
As one of the most important Catholic pilgrimage sites in the world, Fátima draws millions of visitors each year—both believers and curious travelers alike. Here, you can attend daily Mass, light a candle, or simply take in the peaceful atmosphere.
Visit the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary, where the tombs of the three shepherd children are located, and the Chapel of the Apparitions, which marks the exact spot where Our Lady appeared in 1917. You can also explore the Holy Trinity Basilica, one of the largest modern churches in the world.
Batalha
Our next stop is Batalha, where you’ll visit the Monastery of Santa Maria da Vitória, better known as the Batalha Monastery. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983, this impressive monument was built to honor the Portuguese victory at the Battle of Aljubarrota.
Commissioned by King João I in 1386, the monastery is a striking example of Gothic and Manueline architecture. Its intricate stonework and royal tombs make it one of Portugal’s greatest historical treasures.
Nazaré
Next, we arrive at Nazaré, a traditional fishing village now famous for record-breaking waves. In 2011, surfer Garrett McNamara rode a 23.77-meter wave here, a feat later surpassed by Sebastian Steudtner, who set the current world record at 28.57 meters.
Besides its surf legacy, Nazaré offers beautiful beaches, dramatic cliffs, and colorful local traditions. During your visit, keep an eye out for Nazarean women still wearing the traditional seven skirts.
Along the route, we’ll also pass by São Martinho do Porto, known for its peaceful bay, and Foz do Arelho, famous for its scenic lagoon and beach.
To this day, the actual record is 28,57 meters and belongs to the German surfer Sebastian Steudtner. Every single season we have daredevils from all around the world to break the record!
São Martinho do Porto, where you can enjoy one of the most beautiful bays in Portugal and Foz do Arelho, well known for its beach of sea and Lagoon.
Óbidos
Our final stop is the medieval village of Óbidos, enclosed within ancient castle walls. Wander through narrow cobbled streets lined with whitewashed houses and colorful flowers. As a UNESCO City of Literature since 2015, Óbidos is full of charm and creativity.
Don’t miss the chance to taste the famous Liqueur de cerise d'Óbidos, a cherry liqueur traditionally served in a chocolate cup—a must-try local delicacy.
Retour à Lisbonne
After a day filled with spiritual depth, historical grandeur, and coastal beauty, we make our way back to Lisbon. Sit back and relax as we drive through the scenic Portuguese countryside, giving you time to reflect on the memories made throughout the day. Once in Lisbon, we’ll drop you off comfortably at your accommodation, ending the journey with the same care and attention that marked the entire experience.
The itinerary is designed to deliver an unforgettable day—but the choice is always yours.
