Fábio Mendes founded Yellow Cab TT Tours in Lisbon in 2013. What began with a yellow Land Rover Defender and private tours of the Sintra UNESCO World Heritage Cultural Landscape – 28 km northwest of Lisbon – has grown into an operation covering 15 destinations across western and central Portugal, licensed under RNAAT No. 119/2013 and holding 3,364 five-star reviews on Tripadvisor. 

Fábio has been guiding visitors in Portugal for more than 20 years. In that time his role has shifted from full-time field guiding towards company management and operations, while continuing to lead selected tours and remaining the primary contact for clients planning custom itineraries. 

The company’s tours are built around logistical precision rather than fixed scripts. Departures are scheduled at 08:30 to reach Sintra before visitor volumes peak around 10:30–11:00. Itineraries are adjusted based on each group’s interests – whether that is the Templar architecture at Tomar’s Convento de Cristo (built 12th century, UNESCO), the geology behind the big waves at Nazaré (the Nazaré Canyon reaches 5,000 m below sea level), or the Roman urban fabric of Évora (UNESCO since 1986, population 57,000). Fábio remains the primary contact for clients building custom itineraries and handles the planning behind every tour the company runs.
