After pick-up in Lisbon, at the place where you are installed, we will start our tour by traveling directly to Fátima. Along the way, you will be able to observe beautiful agricultural regions, Lezíria, vast plains, and the green landscapes of our Ribatejo.
Fátima
In Fátima, a place of paramount importance for followers of the Christian Faith as it is one of the largest Catholic centers in the world, you will have free time to visit the Fátima Sanctuary, where a feeling of peace and good vibes can be felt.
Attending mass, visiting Nossa Senhora do Rosário de Fátima Basilica, Santíssima Trindade Basilica or the Little Chapel of Apparitions are some of the suggestions for this stop in Fátima, which receives around 6 to 7 million visitors a year.
Batalha
The tour continues through inland villages towards Batalha, where you can also visit the famous Batalha Monastery classified as World Heritage by UNESCO in 1983. Ordered to be built in 1386 by King João I of Portugal in gratitude to the Virgin Mary for the victory in the Battle of Aljubarrota, the Batalha Monastery was built over two centuries and is a beautiful example of the Portuguese taken on Gothic architecture mingled with the Manueline style.
Nazaré
The next stop will be in Nazaré, a famous fishing village with a beautiful coastline and rocks falling straight down to the sea. This is the beach in Portugal where fishing traditions are most colorful, and it is not uncommon to come across Nazarenas who still wear the seven skirts, as tradition dictates. Nazaré is also famously known to surf lovers, as it was here that on 11-1-2011, North American surfer Garrett McNamara successfully faced a giant wave measuring 23 meters and 77 centimeters—the biggest wave in the world at the time.
To this day, the actual record is 28,57 meters and belongs to the German surfer Sebastian Steudtner. Every single season we have daredevils from all around the world to break the record!
Óbidos
Having Óbidos as a destination, we will continue along the beautiful coast, passing by São Martinho do Porto, a peaceful village located in a calm bay, and Foz do Arelho, known for its lagoon and salty sea beaches. In Óbidos, a charming village snugged in the walls of a 17th-century castle, traditionally handed down from queen to queen. You can walk and feel all the romanticism of the place, as well as taste the famous “Ginjinha de Óbidos”, and enjoy the vibe of the 2015 UNESCO City of Literature.
Filled with memories and good times, we will leave for Lisbon, where we will drop you off at the place where you are installed.
